Infertility Workup for Accurate Fertility Diagnosis
What Is an Infertility Workup?
An infertility workup is a comprehensive assessment performed to understand factors that may affect pregnancy. It includes reviewing medical history, evaluating reproductive health, and conducting necessary tests for both partners.
At Flora Fertility Centre, our fertility specialists focus on finding the underlying cause through a complete infertility evaluation and provide a personalized treatment plan based on your needs.
Why You May Need an Infertility Workup
An infertility workup may be recommended if you have been trying to conceive without success or have concerns related to reproductive health.
You may benefit from an evaluation if you experience:
- Difficulty conceiving after regular attempts
- Irregular menstrual cycles
- Previous pregnancy loss
- Hormonal or reproductive concerns
- Issues related to sperm health
- A history of fertility-related conditions
Early evaluation helps identify possible concerns and allows timely treatment planning.
What Does an Infertility Workup Include?
A complete infertility workup may include:
- Medical and fertility history review
- Hormonal assessment
- Ultrasound examination
- Ovulation evaluation
- Uterine and fallopian tube assessment
- Semen analysis
- Other specialized tests, if required
The evaluation helps specialists understand both partners’ fertility health before suggesting treatment options.
Female Fertility Evaluation
A female fertility test focuses on understanding ovulation, egg health, and reproductive organ function. It may include:
- Hormone testing
- Ultrasound scans
- Ovarian reserve assessment
- Evaluation of the uterus and fallopian tubes
These assessments help identify conditions that may affect conception and guide the next steps.
Male Fertility Evaluation
Male fertility evaluation helps assess factors that may impact sperm quality and reproductive health.
A male fertility test may include:
- Semen analysis
- Hormonal testing
- Physical examination
- Additional tests based on individual needs
Evaluating both partners provides a more complete understanding of fertility challenges.
Tests We May Recommend
Female Fertility Test
A female fertility test may include hormone tests, ultrasound scans, and other evaluations to check ovulation, egg reserve, and reproductive health.
Male Fertility Test
A male fertility test commonly includes semen analysis to evaluate sperm count, movement, and quality. Additional tests may be advised depending on the results.
Our Infertility Evaluation Process
First Visit – Consultation & Assessment
Your first visit to Flora IVF should be between 15th-25th days of your period. Our team reviews your medical history, discusses your fertility concerns, and recommends the required infertility workup tests. Our team is dedicated to providing in-depth explanations that resolve all your infertility-related queries, including the overall cost of the treatment.
Third Visit – Further Treatment (If Required)
For couples undergoing procedures such as Frozen Embryo Transfer, a third visit may be scheduled for embryo transfer based on the treatment plan. Embryo transfer is the process where embryos are placed in the uterus of a woman after three to five days of egg retrieval. It’s one of the IVF processes, and embryo transfer is a quick and easy procedure that does not need sedation.
Second Visit – Report Review & Treatment Planning
Your test reports will be received within a day or two. This will confirm your second visit to our centre, and how long you will need to stay here will also be confirmed at that time. This visit includes report discussion, treatment plan, ovum pickup, and embryo transfer. In some cases, based on the condition of the uterus or by the preference of the couple, embryos can be frozen. Hence, embryo transfer is shifted to the third visit.
